Nicaragua update! Ministry here has been so so sweet. How has it been six weeks already? The joy I’ve seen and felt from these people is incomparable to anything I’ve experienced in the states. Watching my new friends here praise God through all their grief and hardships has been such an encouragement to me and has been radically changing my perspective. The Lord has really been convicting me of how many things I have to be grateful for that I’ve been complaining about instead. Something our lovely kitchen staff loves to cook for lunch is soup. Rice soup, egg soup, bean soup, lots of soup. Usually at least a few times a week. It feeds so many people and it’s super easy to make. Now, I’m not usually one to go for a bowl of hot soup in 80 degree weather. When I come back from a day of hot farm work, I’m craving a cold glass of ice water. I don’t like to complain out loud much, but every time we were served soup, I noticed myself becoming frustrated. I was so tired of soup. Then my team visited the dump.
I shared a little about dump ministry in my last blog post. The dump is a place where people go to search for things to sell to make a living. Twice a week, we have teams go to share a message and serve food to them. As we were serving them lunch, it really sunk in how blessed I was to not have to worry about food. There are so many people here who don’t even know when their next meal will be and I’m over here grumbling about this soup that I’ve been blessed with. Thank you Nicaragua, for showing me what it looks like to live life with a heart of gratitude.
I would greatly appreciate prayers for the health of my team this week. I’ve been the only J.I.F. member in ministry this week and am currently the only one without a parasite, bacteria, or other physical ailment. I’m so so grateful for my health but it’s hard seeing my friends in pain.
Until next time friends!
Praying now!

Thanks for reading! 😊
Praying for your friends and I’ll ask my bible study group of 40 women to pray tomorrow! Glad you are ok.
Thank you Doris!
Beautiful. I think these people with such a strong connection to Jesus are actually the blessed ones ❤️
Living in a poverty stricken country is so heart opening. Continue to share your love, and praying for the health of your teammates. Stay well!
